New 2013 Canada Immigration Skilled Workers Class - Based on
Skills
A Skilled Worker and Professional Class - Based on skills applicant for
immigration to Canada is anyone who is not eligible for either the family class
or refugee categories. In order to apply for a Skilled Worker and Professional
Immigrant , you must be 19 years of age or older.
Minister Jason Kenney announced the new instructions for the processing of
Federal Skilled Worker applications effective May 4th, 2013.
Federal Skilled Worker and Professional applicants must also have at least one
year of continuous full-time or equivalent paid work experience in the
past 10 years in one of the new 24 qualifying occupations; or have
Arranged Employment; or have completed a PhD
in Canada, or have completed two years of study in Canada towards a PhD, in
both cases at a recognized institution.
In addition an applicant must pass an English and French tests and all
dipolams must be evaluated by a by the Educational
Credential Assessment (ECA)
The new processing time of immigration applications will be
faster.
The following are the requirements for a Skilled Worker and Professional
applicant based on skills.
Be assessed according to the selection criteria (based on points
system);
Have at least one year of work experience within the past 10 years in a
management occupation or in an occupation normally requiring university,
college or technical training as set out under Skill Type0 or Skill Level A
or B of the National Occupation Clasification List (NOC)
2013.
Your occupation must be listed on the National
Occupational Classification (NOC). in order to qualify to immigrate to
Canada, unless you have approved Arranged
Employment by Human Resources Canada Center.
Have enough money to support yourself and all your dependants to be able to
settle in Canada

To get these points, you must submit test results from an
approved isntitution when you apply. Results can not be
more than two years old on the day you apply.

You finished at least two academic years of full-time study
(in a program at least two years long) at a secondary or
post-secondary school in Canada.
Full-time study means at least 15 hours of classes per
week, and you must have stayed in good academic standing
(as set out by the school) during that time.

Your spouse or common-law partner finished at least two
academic years of full-time study (in a program at least
two years long) at a secondary or post-secondary school in
Canada.

Diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship" refers to a post-secondary
educational credential other than a university educational
credential.
Applicants are rated on the ability to speak, listen, read or write Canada's
two official languages.
Applies to either principal applicant or accompanying spouse or common-law
partner. A common-law partner is a person of the
opposite or same sex with whom you are in a conjugal relationship and who is
currently cohabiting with you and has done so for at least one
year.
NOTE: To be considered under the Independent Skilled Worker category,
applicants
must score a minimum of 67.
